    The Historic Battleford Lions Club are hosting the Operun 2018 on September 23rd, 2018, run route starting from the Battleford Opera House (Town Hall). Run or walk 5K, 10K or participate in the Young at Heart 2K. The Operun promotes the beauty and history of Battleford along with the talent of local artists. The route will take you past local historical sites and through our gorgeous river valley. Each race participant gets a tshirt featuring artwork created by local artists. This year's feature artist is Mary Mattila and her art is "Birch Branch" in recognition of the prevalence of birch trees in our beautiful river valleys. Each participants has their race timed so they can strive to improve each year. Participants are also typically entertained along the route by local musical groups.     Fiddler, singer, and stepdancer April Verch knows how relevant an old tune can be. She was raised surrounded by living, breathing roots music—her father’s country band rehearsing; the lively music at church and at community dances; the tunes she rocked out to win fiddle competitions. She thought every little girl learned to stepdance at the age of three and fiddle at the age of six. She knew nothing else and decided early on that she wanted to be a professional musician.

    a JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter whose music is full of emotionally charged experiences that linger in memories. Raised on the Peguis First Nation of Manitoba, Canada, William has been honing his craft since the age of nine when he first picked up the guitar and piano. His biggest inspirations include Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Charley Pride, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and most significantly, his preacher and musician father.

  • Diane Lines - Concert Thursday May 9, 2019 - 8:00 p.m., Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts
    Diane was the pianist/accompanist for Grammy winner Michael Bublé and has also performed with a variety of artists including: Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, Marian McPartland, Beverley Elliott, Dee Daniels, Jim Byrnes, Blues Boss Kenny Wayne, Gospel great John Boutte, Alfie Zappacosta, Bria Skonberg, Linda Tillery, Amanda Wood and Shari Ulrich. Diane was the principal pianist and vocalist with the Dal Richards Orchestra from 2002 to the present. She performed throughout the United States as keyboardist and vocalist with Mac Frampton’s Hollywood Hills Orchestra.

    Born and raised on the Canadian prairies, Joey Landreth has grown up with a guitar in his hands. Working as a side man through his teens and early twenties Joey grew up on the road, playing music across genres from gospel to country.
