Part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart, AVENUE Q is still the funniest and freshest show in town. When he arrives in the big city with big dreams and a tiny bank account, he has to move into a shabby apartment all the way out on AVENUE Q. Still, the neighbors seem nice! Together, they struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good, and life lessons are learned. Unfortunately this puppet show is not for kids, but your teenagers will think you’re really cool if you bring them! For tickets or more information, visit www.dekkercentre.com

Fiddler, singer, and stepdancer April Verch knows how relevant an old tune can be. She was raised surrounded by living, breathing roots music—her father’s country band rehearsing; the lively music at church and at community dances; the tunes she rocked out to win fiddle competitions. She thought every little girl learned to stepdance at the age of three and fiddle at the age of six. She knew nothing else and decided early on that she wanted to be a professional musician. • Matt Dusk - Concert Thursday February 14, 2019 - 8:00 PM, Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts
Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling jazz sensation Matt Dusk is embarking on the most ambitious project of his already impressive career. Called Jetset Jazz, Dusk’s new album takes the listeners on a musical journey back to the Golden Age of The Great American Songbook. Featuring both originals and standards of the day, Jetset Jazz, is a time capsule to when big-band swing was the pop music of the day, and all the airlines had plenty of leg room. Not just covering Sinatra tunes, Matt Dusk offers up brand-new songs that manage to capture a timeless feeling while also sounding as if they were written all the way back when Sinatra was in his prime. These original tunes are exactly the type of music Sinatra himself would be singing today. Every song Dusk sings will take the audience back to Las Vegas in the 1950s, when the drinks were strong and the dice were hot. Jetset Jazz is the 11th studio album from Matt Dusk in 16 years. The multi-platinum-selling artist has sold more than one million records worldwide, and racked up a series of awards and nominations along the way. Besides receiving 4 Juno nominations in Canada, Dusk is the recipient of a Rose Gali Award, the most prestigious music award in Poland, and is the first jazz artist in history to score a number-one hit in Japan. He has shared the stage with legends such as Tony Bennett and regularly tops the Jazz Charts all over the world. But to really enjoy Matt Dusk, it’s important to see him live. Every performance is filled with the passion that can be heard on his albums, but with an energy that has to be seen to be believed. Considered one of the top live performers in the business, Dusk swaggers across the stage with the confidence of the boys in the Rat Pack playing a sold-out engagement at The Sands. The stack of gold and platinum records—along with the numerous awards and nominations—isn’t going to slow down Matt Dusk anytime soon. With this ambitious trio of concept albums on the horizon—and a world tour ready to follow—Dusk is prepared to do what he does best: Offer the listener an experience that is both an amazing, nostalgic flashback and a modern classic waiting for ears to discover. Jetset Jazz is the perfect addition to any collection…with no baggage fees!
