One of the strengths of a restaurant is measured by the skills of its employees. The Kihiw Restaurant provides its Food & Beverage team the opportunity to participate in the Saskatchewan Tourism Apprenticeship Program. This program will allow employees to work and train toward the nationally recognized Food & Beverage Journeyperson certification. These tools aid in furthering our commitment to the continued growth of our employees that allows us to enhance our guest services and experience.
Our Chefs
One of the strengths of a restaurant is also measured by the talent in the kitchen. The Kihiw Restaurant is committed to continuous culinary development & education. We have three Red Seal accredited chefs allowing us to better mentor young apprentices. This benefits our company, our staff, and most importantly our customers. The Red Seal certification is an acknowledged symbol of quality and is the standardized certification for Canadian chefs. It's an endorsement that is the result of years of practice and dedicated study.
The Executive Chef Jesse Bosman was born and raised in Loon Lake Saskatchewan and started his training in Meadow Lake. After completing the first year culinary arts program he moved to Sakatoon and began his apprenticeship in hotels to broaden his experience. Jesse was then presented with an opportunity to work on Vancouver Island, which again provided him new and unique learning opportunities. He returned to Sakatchewan eight years later and has been the Chef at the Gold Eagle Casino since August 2010.
